A constant supply of hot water at the correct temperature is the lifeblood of any restaurant, so when the recently launched Pepperpot Restaurant and Bar in Derby needed a solution that would meet the needs of its ever-growing clientele, a WaterMaster 35 Evo from ACV was installed to provide the iconic building with a high-performance system.
Following a site visit to the newly built restaurant within Pepper Pot Towers, Steane Ltd., M&E contractors turned to its local ACV representative for a solution. The chosen system installed was a WaterMaster Evo 35 direct fired condensing water heater with stainless steel heat exchanger technology.
Based in one of the city's historic 19th century Pepper Pot Towers, the recently opened Pepperpot Restaurant and Bar is in the Nightingale Quarters of Derby and features a luxurious restaurant, café and bijou cocktail bar. Offering guests a wide selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner options, not to mention a cocktail bar and conference facilities, the building needed a reliable system that would efficiently provide a continuous supply of hot water. Based on its recovery rates, the WaterMaster Evo provided the perfect solution.
Benefitting from short recovery time thanks to tank-in-tank technology, (less hot water is required to reach the desired output temperature when mixed with cold water), the Pepperpot Restaurant and Bar can expect to benefit from reduced running costs and standing losses. Furthermore, as heat losses are minimised (as the DHW in the inner vessel is surrounded by hot primary water) less energy is wasted. The result is a more economically sound system. Another benefit of tank-in-tank design is that scale build-up is significantly reduced.
With floor space being a key consideration for most restaurants and bars, the WaterMaster Evo also benefits from a small footprint. This means the Pepperpot Restaurant and Bar can also expect to benefit from increased space.
The WaterMaster Evo was installed by Steane Ltd within four days and commissioned by ACV. Following the successful installation, staff and guests at the prestigious PepperPot Restaurant and Bar have access to a reliable and constant hot water supply for many years.
Suitable for renovation and new build projects, the WaterMaster Evo is available in six models with 788 – 3,402 l/h continuous flow (@40°). Fully compliant with the latest Ecodesign regulations for domestic hot water (DHW), models are also supplied with a 5-year warranty (terms and conditions apply).
